Dedicated Staff Assignment sees staff working with the same small number of residents every day.
Our Dedicated Staff Assignment won a 2015 Better Practice Award from the Federal Government.
Our quarterly magazine FIVE STARS celebrates older Australians and showcases what life is like in residential aged care.
We are a family-owned business that has been at the forefront of seniors’ living for over 40 years. We’ve been proudly delivering our unique brand of 5-star aged care to older Australians since 1997.
Our aged care services are delivered in 34 luxurious residential communities across Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales. We also provide home care in Victoria and Queensland.
Within our residential aged care communities, we offer:
We understand there is no one-size-fits-all approach to aged care and that everyone who lives, works and visits our residential aged care communities is a unique human being.
In fact, uniqueness is one of our core values – a constant reminder that we are not ‘all the same’, even if we do share a few similarities such as our profession, our ethnicity, our religion, age, diagnosis, or gender. Click here to learn about our values and how we discover people’s uniqueness through honest and committed relationships.
And just like the people we support, the services we provide are many and varied. From permanent residential care in our residential aged care communities, to offering a helping hand around the house with in-home support, and even helping you get to those important medical appointments or down to the club for a meal with mates.
Arcare’s unique Relationship-First Approach to aged care is how we support older Australians in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland to continue living their lives in a way that is meaningful to them.
By prioritising the building of honest and committed relationships between clients, families and team members, we foster and build aged care communities where a sense of purpose, significance, continuity, belonging, security and fulfilment is felt by all.
Each residence is fully accredited by the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency and has nursing staff on 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and 365 days of the year.
The services we provide in our aged care residences include:
When moving into an Arcare aged care residence, you are moving into a new community.
Clients living in our communities enjoy delicious meals served in intimate dining rooms. Most of our dining rooms have balcony or courtyard access with views to an outdoor courtyard or the surrounding landscape.
Most of our five-star aged care residences have multiple lounge rooms, a private dining room for family and friends to share meals in, a large and spacious movie theatre, boutique café, hair and beauty salon, outdoor courtyards with seating and a gymnasium.
Residents are encouraged to continue to pursue their hobbies and discover new ones with an extensive range of hobby groups and lifestyle events and activities offered regularly within our residences.
We’ve been supporting people living in the community with in home care since 2005.
During this time we’ve had the privilege of helping hundred of older Australians remain independent and continue to be active members of their communities.
The services that we can provide to people living in their home include:
In 2015 we received a prestigious Better Practice Award from the Australian Federal Government for our unique Dedicated Assignments.
Dedicated Assignments are the cornerstone of our Relationship-First Approach and ensures that each team member works with the same small group of clients each time they come to work.
This fosters consistent, nurturing and trusting relationships between team members, clients and families.
Our focus on relationships is a philosophical shift from treating old age as a sickness to celebrating longevity by nurturing the mind, body, spirit and continued growth of those entrusted with us. (Which is why we call our aged care residences ‘communities’ and not nursing homes.)
Respite care in one of our Arcare residences across Victoria, New South Wales or Queensland can be arranged for a minimum of two weeks at a time. This valuable service allows families and carers to have a short break and re-charge their batteries.
A short two week stay in an aged care residence is a good way for families to experience residential aged care first-hand and see if it is the right move for them in the future. Many are pleasantly surprised and find residential aged care is very different to what they thought it would be like – welcoming the idea of moving in permanently when the time comes.
Demand for respite care in our aged care residences is quite high so it is recommended that you start making enquiries into your preferred residence as soon as you identify the need for short-term respite care.
Arcare also offers in-home respite for short periods during the day, overnight, or for longer periods as required.

Palliative care provides support and specialised care in a client’s final moments so they experience a dignified and comfortable end of life.
The palliative care that we provide to clients in our aged care residences will vary depending on their spiritual, emotional, physical, social and cultural needs..
It is a team effort. Specialist palliative care team members work alongside other health professionals and community members to support clients and families during this emotional time.
We are committed to the well-being and development of all the people who live in our residential aged care communities.
We understand that some people require extra support in order to experience this. The sensitive care environments inside our aged care residences are there so that people who are experiencing a range of potentially distressing behavioural and / or psychological responses commonly associated with dementia have the opportunity to live in a specialised environment that is socially, physically and emotionally safe, supportive and enabling for them.
