The tables were set, Andre Rieu could be heard through the speakers and the stalls were set up at Arcare Maroochydore in preparation for a day in the garden.
To mark Seniors Week Arcare Maroochydore welcomed seniors on the Sunshine Coast to a high tea in the garden followed by a movie screening in the comfort of the theatre.
The high tea was well attended with over 20 locals dropping by to spend the day indulging in high tea, browsing the market stalls and relaxing in front of the big screen.
A number of Arcare Home Care clients also attended the event accompanied by support worker Fiona.
New friendships were formed over cups of earl grey tea, English breakfast tea and freshly brewed coffee.
Not long after everyone was seated chef Marcelo arrived with delicious tarts, sandwiches, pastries and fruit for the guests to indulge in.
The reviews of the high tea were unanimous, it was delightful!
Arcare Home Care client Beryl said, “That was so lovely. I’ve been so busy this week with activities Arcare has planned for me. Thank you very much.”
Another guest could be heard asking how he could live in a such a beautiful place as this.
As high tea wrapped up guests had a last look around the boutique market stalls that were set up in the private dining room.
The stalls had everything from candles and fragrance diffusers to wallets, handbags and jewellery.
Once the guests had shopped until they dropped they were invited to relax in the comfort of the theatre with large white leather chairs, wall to wall screen and surround sound.
The guests were treated to a private screening of ‘The Hundred Foot Journey’.
Starring Helen Mirren, The Hundred-Foot Journey is a heart-warming story of passion, flavour and culinary rivalry set in Southern France.
All in all the morning was a great success with new friends, delicious food and a relaxing movie screening.
