Arcare Parkinson was filled with little yaps and barks when team member Jodie brought in her dogs for cuddles and pats.
She lovingly brought in her puppies to share with the clients and team members and to bring a smile to their faces.
Clients and team members were ‘dachshund’ through the room just to cuddle with the puppies!
There were two 9-week-old Dachshund puppies, their mum and grandma, as well as a 7-month-old Dachshund and a Chihuahua.
Seated on the lounge room sofas, the clients made themselves comfortable among the dogs.
Jodie also prepared a large cloth on the floor for the dogs to be on, in case of any accidents.
Client Lionel could not help but get on the floor with the furry animals to cuddle with them.
The dogs made lots of new friends that day as they excitedly jumped on clients and followed them around the room.
Everyone had a wonderful morning, getting lots of licks and cuddles from the puppies.
Unfortunately, we weren’t allowed to keep the puppies at the Arcare Parkinson residence!
“They are so small and adorable and they have beautiful fur! Can Jodie bring them in everyday?” client Geraldine asked.
Interacting with the adorable animals brought back many wonderful memories of the clients’ own pets.
And most importantly, the sociable dogs also brightened up their day.
There are so many benefits to pet therapy and here at Arcare, we encourage our clients to experience different social interactions.
And today was ‘pawsitively’ the best day we had at Arcare Parkinson!
