Arcare Point Lonsdale clients, Keith and Peter celebrated their birthdays, a day apart from each other. Keith and Peter requested, as a part of their birthday celebrations, that they go on a scenic bike ride around Point Lonsdale.
However, Keith and Peter were not suggesting that they would be the one pushing the bike.
Arcare Point Lonsdale is lucky enough to have a Cycling without Age trio bike. The trio bike enables two aged care clients to sit in a chair on the front of the bike, while someone rides and powers the bike.
This was a great way for Peter and Keith to enjoy the great outdoors and connect with the broader community, without straining themselves. You’re never too old to enjoy the feeling of the wind against your cheeks, and beautiful scenery. It’s great to witness how the trio bike is empowering aged care clients to still get out and about.
A volunteer rider pushed Peter and Keith all around Point Lonsdale, even riding by the beach. The trio eventually stopped to enjoy a coffee from Pasquini’s cafe.
What a beautiful way to celebrate two birthdays?
Being creative has no age limit.
Arcare Point Lonsdale clients, Evelyn, Betty and Lina enjoyed a clay art session led by the lifestyle team.
The clients enjoyed the tactile feeling of the clay, and took pleasure in their ability to create art with their own hands.
The feeling of rolling and shaping the clay, prompted the ladies to start discussing cooking.
“This clay reminds me of making gnocchi with my family!” Lina exclaimed.
