The Arcare Glenhaven community recently dressed up and laid a few bets at their big ‘Casino Night’!
Everyone enjoyed drinks and canapes as they threw their casino chips onto either of the poker, blackjack, craps or roulette tables.
The event was only possible with the generosity and kind hearts of volunteers in our Glenhaven community.
Not only did members of the ‘Hills Community Mums’ group donate the casino props and equipment, but 19 amazing volunteers joined the Arcare team on the evening, all dressed in white shirts and purple bow-ties.
The collection of school students, Living Choice residents and staff members families who contributed to the residents’ pure enjoyment truly represented the beautiful community Glenhaven shares.
The atmosphere was thriving between the chatter, laughs, live piano music and cheers from winning tables.
‘It was so great to see them all dressed up and enjoying themselves,’ said Lifestyle Manager Chloe Poulsen.
‘I love it,’ said Bert, ‘If only I was betting for real money!’
Other residents said, ‘It was a well organised and run event’, ‘one of the best nights we have had in a long time!’
Family members who were visiting Arcare for the first time were wondering ‘When can I move in?’. They thought it was fantastic to see so many residents dressed up, looking amazing!
Nursing staff thought it was funny that all the residents slept in the next day.
‘They were like young teenagers after a night out – we couldn’t get them to wake up!’.
The residents are already looking forward to the next themed event at Arcare Glenhaven. It was an experience for both the residents and their families that they will never forget.
