On Wednesday 20th May, the Arcare Portarlington community celebrated client, Brian’s 65 years of Labour party membership.
Brian’s suite is filled with photos capturing the proud moments throughout his 65 years of membership. Brian proudly displays a photo of himself with Julia Gillard and Bob Hawke in his suite, and he is always sharing stories and the Labour highlights from over the years, with members of the Arcare Portarlington community.
To mark the tremendous occasion, the lifestyle team organised a special afternoon tea and celebratory cake especially for Brian.
The Labour Party recognised Brian’s 65 years of service by sending out a certificate of thanks, however due to COVID-19, the party were unable to hold their typical presentation ceremony.
However the Labour Party didn’t want to let the occasion pass without personally thanking Brian, so the President of the Manningham Labour branch setup a Zoom meeting, in which she could present the certificate to Brian.
Lifestyle coordinator, Tammy setup Brian with the video meeting, before he was joined by the President of the Manningham Labour brand and other executive members.
Brian’s face lit up as the group began reminiscing about the historic past of the Labour Party and everything that Brian has been a part of over the years,
It was a truly lovely afternoon, and Brian and his family were appreciative to be honoured in such a way.
