Aged Care Resident Profiles » Mel’s carrots
September 10, 2020
Written by Rachel Bailey
Ever since resident, Mel moved into the Arcare Carnegie community several years ago, she has enjoyed growing vegetables in the garden outside her room.
Mel is a very keen gardener with a very “green thumb”. Mel spends at least an hour per day tending to her veggie garden, and she also enjoys visiting the resident aviary birds, chatting with them and feeding them.
Over the years, Mel has planted a variety of fresh vegetables such as tomatoes, carrots and herbs, and after every harvest, she has enjoyed sharing the spoils with the community.
Recently Mel picked some of the largest carrots that she has ever grown in her Carnegie garden. Mel was so proud of her carrots, that she immediately went to show them off to the entire team and her fellow community members.
