Here at Arcare Helensvale , Christmas celebrations are as important as our pre-dinner drinks.
Over fifty clients and family members joined in the Christmas celebrations wearing their colourful party hats, outfits and accessories.
The residence café was also decorated in the vibrant colours of red and green, adding to the festive mood.
There were red tablecloths, green bon bons, mini Christmas trees, red and green balloons, themed crockery and Santa hats.
The kitchen team also arranged a variety of sweets and savouries to tantalise everybody’s taste buds.
From Christmas slices, rum balls, cheese platters, curry puffs, meat pies, sausage rolls, muffins, chicken kiev balls and spring rolls, we were all spoiled for choice!
Local singer Debra Cox also brought some Christmas cheer to the party as clients and the family members could not help but clap, sing and dance along to the music.
While the drinks were being served, the clients excitedly pulled at the ends of their bon bons and popped it went as little gifts fell out.
Kate also had a special surprise for the clients; their faces lit up as they were handed their presents.
Keeping up with their Christmas traditions is important in recreating that festive experience.
‘The event was a success, people were having fun, laughing and chatting. You could just see the joy on their faces! That is what Christmas is all about.’ Lifestyle coordinator Kate said.
Many of the family members and clients could not stop expressing their gratitude to Kate and Arcare Helensvale for organising this heartfelt event.
It is important to spend Christmas with family and the clients had the opportunity to do just that as their sons, daughters and grandchildren all came to celebrate.
From everyone at Arcare Helensvale, we want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
