The community of Arcare North Shore would like to begin by acknowledging the Bindal and Wulgurukaba people as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we stand today and pay our respects to their Elders past, present, and future.
The Australia Day celebrations are in full swing here at Arcare North Shore as we celebrate all things Aussie with our annual Australia Day Games festival.
Our residents put their skills to a test as they tried their hand at our annual Australia Day games.
In sharing our yearly traditions, we recognise the diversity of cultures our community shares, such as Italian, Hungarian, and German.
Today, we came together to commemorate a day of unity and the celebration of our great country – Australia.
There was laughter throughout the foyer as everyone succeeded (and failed) at the thong toss and the keep the ball rolling game.
“I don’t think I’ve ever played a thong tossing game but I’m definitely excited to try it,” Margaret said.
And if you were brave enough, you could even have a chance at the egg and spoon lap.
Only residents Margaret Barker and Gaye Jordan succeeded in this feat.
“This was such a great morning!” Bill shared.
Our Australia Day morning was filled with fun, friendship and laughter as we finished off the celebrations with a game of Aussie picture bingo.
