Written by Rachel Bailey
In February, 86-year old Arcare Sydenham client, Barry Ewens ticked one of his life-long dreams off his bucket list.
Barry had always dreamed, that one day he would take the big jump and finally go skydiving.
With the help of his family and the support of the Arcare Sydenham team, Barry booked in his skydiving experience with Skydive Melbourne.
“This has always been something he has wanted to do, and finally he just said ‘I’m doing it’.” Barry’s daughter, Diane said.
Despite using a walker to get around, Barry was determined to get on the plane and jump out.
“There’s no stopping Dad when he sets his mind to something.” Diane said.
Barry’s family watched from the ground, as Barry fulfilled his dream of going skydiving.
Now reflecting on the experience, Barry says that he has “No regrets.”
