Maribyrnong Mayor visits Maidstone for St Patrick’s Day

For many Arcare residencies across Australia, Saint Patrick’s Day is a good excuse for residents and team members alike to don fabulous vibrant green outfits, sing, dance and celebrate the Irish. ☘️

This year on St Patrick’s Day, the Arcare Maidstone community chose to celebrate the occasion in a special way- with a visit from Maribyrnong mayor Michael C Clarke .

Mayor Clarke was invited to join the community’s festive celebrations and concert by the team, and was thrilled to uncover that the 1997 City of Maribyrnong Citizen of the Year, Enid Thomas now resides within the community. Enid and Michael spent much of the afternoon talking their passion for the local community.

Mayor Clarke made a brief speech introducing himself to the residents, before he declared (in his opinion) that Arcare Maidstone ‘one of best aged care residences in the area’.

Performer and community favourite, Tony played nostalgic tunes throughout the afternoon that made many team members and residents get up to have a dance together. The catering team served delightful green treats such as green cupcakes and finger sandwiches for afternoon tea.

It was truly special occasion for all involved. The Arcare Maidstone community would like to thank Mayor Michael Clarke for coming out to visit.
