Champagne, high tea and fascinators at Arcare Warriewood’s Melbourne Cup

Donning DIY fascinators and pretty blouses, the residents in our Arcare Warriewood community were celebrating Melbourne Cup.

As part of the Melbourne Cup festivities, residents could participate in sweeps and also compete for best dressed.

‘I love to see all the colours and fascinators on Cup Day!’ a resident commented.

Gathering in the lounge room, residents made themselves comfortable as they got ready to watch the momentous race and cheer on their winning horses, with a flute of champagne in one hand, of course.

Besides bubblies, there was a Melbourne Cup high tea prepared for them.

From watching the races, a few of the residents were reminiscing about attending the Melbourne Cup in their younger days and their experiences with horse racing.

‘It was a great day, I enjoyed all the festivities and even learnt a bit about the Melbourne Cup’s long history,’ a resident shared.
