After the success of Arcare Templestowe’s first Cook Off between team members Josh and Kerryn in November, the community chose to make the cooking competition a monthly event.
Held in Templestowe’s large foyer area, residents gathered in December to watch chef, Josh and lifestyle coordinator, Kerryn face off once again.
The recipe of choice this month was a trio of dips, an ideal choice for entertaining during the Holiday season.
Both Kerryn and Josh were tasked with the challenge of whipping up three signature dips. They both decided to cook a beetroot dip, French onion dip and a red capsicum dip for the occasion.
Josh and Kerryn narrated the steps of their recipe for the onlooking residents, as they chopped, blended and mixed their dips. The foyer echoed with the laughter and chatter from the residents, as they enjoyed watching the fun banter between the two team members.
The onlooking residents had the honour of taste-testing both team members’ dips and casting their vote for ‘Best Cook’. The residents took their time scoring and discussing the dips amongst themselves, before the votes were tallied up and head chef, Josh was crowned the winner. Kerryn graciously presented Josh with his winning trophy, before vowing to beat him in next month’s challenge.
