What a frightful sight!😱 Celebrating Halloween 2020 πŸŽƒ

Just before the end of October, goblins, witches and zombies were seen social distancing and creeping around Arcare communities across VictoriaπŸ¦‡πŸ§›

The spooky creatures gave some a fright, while others chose to laugh at the monsters. However there was nothing really to fear, as the creatures were merely residents and team members disguised in costume for Halloween! πŸŽƒ

Arcare communities have participated in a variety of creepy activities, such as Monster Mash parties, Armchair Travel sessions to Transylvania, frightful cooking demonstrations, costume competitions, and spooky photobooth shoots.

Watch some of our Spook-tacular highlights below 😱

Arcare Keysborough

To celebrate Halloween, the Arcare Keysborough community hosted a Monster Mash Happy Hour. The lifestyle team decorated the room with pumpkins, black cats, spiders and lollies. The catering team baked a variety of delicious orange foods for the occasion to match in with the spooky colour scheme.

During Happy Hour, the community also celebrated resident, Angela’s 86th birthday. The community gathered around her, albeit socially distanced, to sing her Happy Birthday and watch as she blew out the candles on her Halloween-inspired cake.

The lifestyle team organised a variety of creepy activities for residents to participate in and enjoy, such as Halloween Music and Dancing, an Armchair Travel session to Transylvania and a spooky treats cooking class.

All of the nursing teams did an amazing job at decorating their spaces. The creepy decorations set the mood for their Halloween activities and became quite the talking point within the residence.

On Friday 30th October, the lifestyle team did their final judging walk-through of the residence, crowning the Serpells community the winner, with the Reception team coming in a close second.
