The Gratitude Tree

“Even in the midst of life’s difficulties, we can still find things to be grateful for”

Many Arcare residences have now been in precautionary lockdown for almost 4 months, due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, and with all the craziness and uncertainty in the world at the moment, the clients from the Arcare Nirvana community have been taking the time to focus on all the good things in their lives.

As a community, the Arcare Nirvana clients and team came up with the concept of a gratitude tree. The gratitude tree is a place where the community can display all the things that they are currently grateful and thankful for. The community used hand-painted autumn leaves to write all their messages on, before sticking them on the branches of the gratitude tree.

This large gratitude tree is now on display at reception, greeting everyone who goes past with it’s positivity.

Other clients have also been inspired to add their own leaf to the tee, after seeing the other messages of positivity grow on a daily basis.

Here are some of the things that clients have written that they are grateful for:

  • I’m still breathing and having fun.
  • My precious family.
  • We are safe here.
  • Fish n Chips.
  • Good Coffee.
  • Music
  • Friendships
  • We are safe
