A Monster Mash celebration at Arcare Hope Island

The community of Arcare Hope Island held a triple celebration for Miss Maisy’s 3rd birthday, the residence’s 7th birthday and their first Halloween Monster Mash party.

Lifestyle Co-ordinator Allison, Personal Support Worker Rachel and Lifestyle Assistant Michelle decorated the courtyard with an assortment of spiders, cobwebs and ghosts.

And clients had quite a fright when they saw Hope Island’s team members dressed as zombies, witches and bloody killers.

Even Miss Maisy herself was dressed as a little devil!

The clients joined in the Halloween mood and wore fake knives, witches’ hats and spiders on their heads.

As a surprise, team members had been practicing a special Halloween performance where they danced to iconic songs such as ‘Thriller’ and the ‘Monster Mash’.

Adding to the Monster Mash party, Catering Manager Tim, Chef Kristina and her team prepared a beautiful vanilla cake and decorated it with fake eyeballs and skeletons.

Clients Rita, Kevin, Jean and Dawn had the honour of cutting the cake as they had moved into the community in 2013.

This party was also a great opportunity to celebrate Hope Island’s participants, finalists and winner of our Arcare Art Competition.

‘It’s a great party, I’m having a lot of fun,’ Kevin said.

Arcare Hope Island’s first Monster Mash party was a success and we look forward to many more together!
