Quality time at Arcare Springwood’s Mother’s Day afternoon tea

For Mother’s Day at Arcare Springwood, the ladies enjoyed a session of afternoon tea, organised by Lifestyle team Rebecca and Helen.

They had set the tables with tablecloths and table runners of intricate design, including lovely crockery from Royal Doulton, napkins, milk jugs and all the trimmings.

The ladies dressed in pink, purple and white as requested and even wore some of their favorite jewellery.

Then, we served the ladies with a variety of mini scones, fruits and dates.

Helen prepared cups of tea and soon, the warm aroma of steeped tea leaves filled the air.

Music accompanied the afternoon tea and was kindly put together by one of our favorite entertainers Gordon, who arranged a set list of songs specially for Mother’s Day.

Our craft group had also made some pink and purples hearts during the week for display.

In the morning, Rebecca and Helen spent some quality time with the ladies, reminiscing about their favorite mementos, such as a 100-year-old cake tin, beauty cases, a cameo brooch, CorningWare cookware, aprons and more.

They chatted about their experience as mothers and even shared their thoughts on some of the greatest household inventions over the last sixty years – the microwave and washing machine were a crowd favorite.

During Mother’s Day, it is important to celebrate and show our appreciation for all mothers and mother-like figures at Arcare Springwood.
