Aged Care Narratives » Cooking with Constantina

The Arcare Templestowe lifestyle and kitchen teams love to encourage clients to share their passion of food and cooking with the community, by regularly inviting clients to cook in residence’s kitchen.
88 year old client, Constantina has always loved cooking and sharing her delicious food with her friends and family. However after moving into aged care, Constantina began to miss being able to cook.
On Wednesday 8th July, much to Constantina’s delight, the lifestyle team encouraged Constantina to join them in the kitchen for an afternoon of traditional Greek cooking.
Constantina chose to cook a traditional Greek dish, that was made up of eggs, tomatoes, salt and pepper and fetta. Constantina was the head chef for the afternoon, with the lifestyle team acting as her apprentice chefs.
The inviting aroma of Constantina’s cooking filled the hallways of the residence, persuading other clients to come out and see what all the smell was about.
Many of the other clients, chose to stay and watch Constantina cook, occasionally asking her questions. Constantina was more than happy to chat about her cooking and share her tips and tricks with the community.
