Aged Care Narratives » Parkview’s bushfire relief raffle
February 27, 2020
Written by Rachel Bailey
In January, the Arcare Parkview community banded together to raise money for those, who were affected by Australia’s recent bushfires.
The entire Arcare Parkview community were keen to find a way to give back and help communities rebuild after the bushfires.
The Parkview community raffled off three gourmet food hampers, with each ticket being sold for $5.
The clients enjoyed participating in all the fun of the raffle, as they knew that the money was going to a worthy cause.
Tickets were sold to clients, team members, friends and family members for just over two weeks, before the raffle was drawn at the end of January. Three lucky raffle winners were announced: team member, Nimmi; family member, Jen and client, Sidney. Sidney chose not to indulge in the delicious spoils from hamper, however he chose to share his prize with the Arcare Parkview team, as a way of saying ‘thank-you’ for taking such good care of him.
Overall, the Arcare Parkview community were able to raise $1266.85; what an incredible effort.
All of the money raised will be going to the Australian Red Cross Disaster Response and Recovery Fund & Wildlife Victoria.
