Aged Care Narratives » Callie shaves for a cure at Arcare Parkinson

Written by Jamie Loh
Clients and team members at Arcare Parkinson watched on as Sarah shaves Callie’s hair for Shave for a Cure to raise money for a good cause.
Team member Callie from laundry services was brave enough to volunteer to have her hair shaved.
Team member Sarah had the privilege of shaving Callie’s hair as she had donated the highest amount of money.
With blue and orange balloons decorating the residence, many clients and team members turned up to watch the event and Callie was all smiles as Sarah got to work.
The clients also enjoyed nibbling on scones topped with blue cream for morning tea.
The Lifestyle team held raffles and with a combination of everybody’s effort and Callie’s bravery, we were able to raise $233.
Raising money for a charity gave the clients a sense of fulfilment and purpose as they knew they were supporting a good cause and they enjoyed having a laugh with team members.
