A meaningful Pink Ribbon breakfast at Arcare Slacks Creek

Our Arcare Slacks Creek community recently hosted a Pink Ribbon breakfast to raise funds for breast cancer research and to honour those who have been impacted by the disease.

We enjoyed pretty pancakes and pink champagne for breakfast as we discussed how cancer had affected many of our lives in some many ways.

We have been touched by cancer, either from a personal experience or through someone we loved.

Resident Evelyn who is a breast cancer survivor, took this opportunity to encourage the women to check their breasts regularly.

‘If you feel there’s something different or something feels wrong, see a doctor straight away- even if you think it’s probably nothing, it’s better to be safe than sorry.’

Her wise words and heartfelt message meant a lot to us.

Together, we raised $64 for the Pink Ribbon cause and helped to raise awareness among our own community.
