The daily exercise routine at Arcare’s newest residence in Queensland will leave you feeling inspired!
Before breakfast is even served at 8am, clients go for a walk in the neighbouring Springwood park, at 9.30am, there is a second walking group session, and another one at 11am catered for clients in wheelchairs.
Like they say, the early bird catches the worm and here at the Arcare Springwood, the clients certainly know what it means.
All this is led by John, Arcare Springwood’s ever enthusiastic and eager Physiotherapist aid, along with the help of Jamey, another Physiotherapist from Work Xtra.
Developing an exercise program can be a little tricky at times. But John always takes a positive approach to it.
He gets to know his clients, he understands their wants and their needs, and then he put together a program that leaves everybody feeling satisfied. In the end, the clients always leave with big smiles on their faces.
For example, John incorporates music and dance into his exercises, knowing that music creates a positive atmosphere and gets them moving along to the beat. And ultimately, it’s all about changing their perception on exercise and having lots of fun!
Other than the clients, John himself also has a lot of fun dancing along with the clients.
Other activities that is offered at Arcare Springwood include outdoor tai chi on the deck, yoga, ball toss and giant balloon hitting.
Regular exercise is important at any age, but continuing to stay active as we get older can definitely help to maintain independence and improve overall health and well-being.
Here at Arcare Springwood, we are very fortunate to have a capable fitness team that can ensure that! Find out more information about the residence here: https://arcare.com.au/qld-aged-care/springwood-aged-care/
