A sweet treat for a sweet lady at Arcare Pimpama

Shirley Mansell at Arcare Pimpama has been looking forward to feeling the wind in her hair again and going out for a spin.

So with Shirley safely buckled in the Arcare bus, General Services Manager Tim and Lifestyle Co-ordinator Amanda went on a bus outing to The Spit.

They also bought a very sweet treat for her – her favourite strawberry ice cream.

Since fulfilling her lifelong wish of swimming with dolphins in 2019, Shirley is not as active as she used to be, however, this did not stop her from having a great time outdoors.

‘It’s great to be able to get out to the beach one more time and to have an ice cream,’ Shirley says.

‘I used to come to the beach quite often so I’m glad we got to do it one last time, I’d like to thank Amanda, Tim and Vicki for making this happen’.

On the drive back to Arcare Pimpama, Amanda put Elvis Presley on the speakers and together, they had a blast singing, dancing and laughing in their seats.

‘Even though Shirley’s health is declining, she always has a cheeky smile on her face and I’m really proud to be a part of this today,’ Amanda shares.
