As part of their NAIDOC week celebration, clients at Arcare Warriewood put on their creative hats and painted on nature’s very own canvas – a tree bark.
In their art group activity, they experimented with this new medium instead of paper, and found out that it was actually a whole lot of fun!
‘I’ve painted on a lot of things in my life but never on bark – this is very interesting!’ a client shared as she dipped her paintbrush in red ink.
As they were all painting together in the activities room, they discussed in detail this special form of Aboriginal bark painting that dates back thousands of years and their interesting culture and history.
‘What a clever idea! They are so creative and I’m so glad we got to try this,’ a client commented.
