On a beautiful day, clients at Arcare Parkinson celebrated nature and flowers by getting involved in a flower arranging class.
Clients met with Nilmini from Floral Design to get started on their designs.
Different types of beautiful orange flowers and greenery were used to create 3 different arrangements.
“It was a wonderful morning being surrounded by beautiful flowers,” Geraldine said.
Jean also commented on how the colours for the various flowers amazing.
Clients were able to assist with the design and ask many questions about how they are created and the inspiration behind each creation.
Clients also got to touch and smell the flowers for themselves.
This was a great mental and sensory experience for everyone as they got to have their input in the flower designs.
Being able to physically handle the flowers also brought back a lot of memories for those who enjoyed gardening.
Margaret recalled “I used to do flower arranging when I was young, so it was great watching someone else create an arrangement”.
A wonderful morning of discussion around design, gardening, creativity and flowers continued long after the flower arranging class was over.
