Every year schools and public libraries across Australia dedicate a week to celebrating books. Schools often participate in dress-up theme paying homage to their favourite characters and authors with special mention to Australian authors and illustrators. The theme this year was “Reading is Magic’ and acknowledges the benefits of reading for all age groups.
Book Week encourages and promotes the activity of book reading within communities and is a great way to exchange book reading ideas.
Arcare Aged Care is home to many residents with unique stories to share. Some residents have also penned their own stories as authors and illustrators.
