On R U OK Day Arcare encourages everyone to ask each other and themselves “Are you ok?” and really think about the answer. It is important to recognise when you’re having a hard time and accept the help you may need.
Every year, Arcare communities across Australia rally together in support of R U OK Day with a variety of initiatives on offer including morning teas, lunches or walks. This time serves as a reminder to check in on one another and that it is okay to reach out for support.
Whilst R U OK Day is just one Day, its importance is life-long. There are many resources available to you on R U OK Day and throughout the year.
If you’re not sure how to ask someone if they’re ok, the R U OK organisation has articles to provide guidance and support such as their How to ask page and Conversation Guide.
Arcare’s Employee Assistance Program TELUS has many articles about mental health and offers confidential support services.
