Cycling Without Age
Danish initiative Cycling Without Age hit the Bellarine Peninsula in early 2018.
Our bike is housed at Arcare Point Lonsdale and is named ‘Rover’; thanks to Shirley Dogshun, a client at Arcare Point Lonsdale for the name.
Cycling Without Age is centered around the ideals of Danish cycling culture; that no one, no matter what age, should be restricted from riding a bike.
With the help of volunteer ‘pilots’, weekly rides are now a regular fixture on the leisure calendar at Arcare Point Lonsdale, running several times each week.
Passengers are enjoying feeling the wind through their hair and developing friendships with volunteer pilots.
The bike is now well known in the community as it regularly stops by many of the local cafés.
