The power and value of consistent and committed relationships between residents, employees and family was the strongest theme identified by stakeholders throughout our research in 2012 / 2013.
We learned that the physical and spiritual well-being of the people we support is directly linked to the quality of the relationships they have with employees and the people closest to them.
Families told us that they feel a sense of security and relief when they were able to build trusting relationships with employees, and employees shared with us that developing relationships with residents and families is the primary reason they do this work.
The value of relationships in all of our stakeholders’ lives led to the development of our Dedicated Staff Assignment model, an approach which completely transforms the way that care and support are provided.

– Employees commit to work a minimum of 3 shifts per week
– All employees – care, nursing, environmental & catering – work with exactly the same small group of residents every time they come to work
– Regular opportunities for residents and family to provide feedback on their experiences with the care employees who are dedicated to them

Our mobile Quality Audit Team regularly monitor the rosters of our residences and speak with residents, staff and families to ensure that Dedicated Assignment is working to its full potential.
