Here at Arcare Pimpama, we celebrated Book Week in the last week of September by dressing up as some of our popular book characters.
Some team members came to work dressed as Dorothy from Wizard of Oz, Minnie Mouse, Little Red Riding Hood and more!
Residence manager Vicky donned a unicorn wig, rainbow cape, unicorn shorts and funky socks to top off her weirdly wonderful costume.
As she went about her daily duties such as managing the residence and conducting interviews, it was hard for everyone to contain their laughter!
“I’m all about making people laugh and if this costume does the trick, then I might wear it every day!” Vicky said.
Being able to come to work and have fun is such an important part of Arcare Pimpama.
For example, Book Week is a great way for the everyone to feel connected and supported by their team.
And the clients can feel it too.
As they go around the residence on their daily walks, there are big smiles on everyone’s faces as they greet each other with a warm ‘hello’ or ‘good morning’.
The team members and clients are happy, friendly and most important of all, welcoming.
One of the Arcare Pimpama’s Occupational therapist, Nicole was dressed as Minnie Mouse with her red, black and white polka dotted skirt and headband.
As she went around the residence, she bumped into a client who was also dressed in a red and white polka dot shirt!
