To keep up with the Arcare Slacks Creek tradition of DIY projects, the Arcare Slacks Creek team got together to make some fascinators.
Client Joyce won the Melbourne Cup Hat Competition and received a golden trophy, which she proudly held up to show everyone.
Her fascinator was a beautiful shade of pink with lots of blue flowers, butterflies, feathers and beads.
She had such a big smile on her face as she posed for photos with the Griffith University students.
Other clients also had the opportunity to get their creative juices flowing from making their own colourful fascinators.
And for the Melbourne Cup celebrations, they wore their own creations for the whole day, revelling in the attention.
Some of the team members also pretended to be jockeys in the Arcare Slacks Creek Hobbie Horse races.
The Hobbie Horse races were an opportunity for the clients to bet on who they thought would win each race.
And if they got it right, they would win prizes.
This was all part of the Arcare Slacks Creek Melbourne Cup fun!
Lifestyle Coordinator Josie did a wonderful job of organising the games, the activities and the props.
The clients definitely had a lot of fun from their own version of the Melbourne Cup.
