On a beautifully sunny day, the clients from Arcare Slacks Creek went off on a bus outing to Wynnum.
Wynnum is a coastal suburb facing the sea with many wonderful swimming area, boats and boutique shops.
But the clients were there for one thing only – the local fish and chips shop!
They spent their afternoon chatting under the shaded area and enjoying the deliciously fried and salted local delicacies.
After craving fish and chips for such a long time, the clients from Arcare Slacks Creek finally got to satisfy their cravings.
Going to the beach over the weekend was a common activity among their family and friends.
And no trip to the beach is complete without some battered barrumundi and flavoursome potato chips.
For some of the clients, their first memory of fish and chips was seeing it all wrapped in newspaper, leading to fingers stained with paper ink.
But they have many happy memories of driving down the beach, children in tow as they head straight to their favourite fish and chips shop.
You would know if it is a good fish and chips shop depending on the queue outside – the longer the queue, the better the food!
And no matter how long the wait was, it was all worth it when they bite into the melt-in-your-mouth fish and chips.
