The clients at our Burnside community were recently visited by a group of children from the local kindergarten.
The little kindy kids captured the hearts of all of the clients and truly made their day. Connie had a heart-warming chat with several of the kindy kids, which she said completely ‘brightened her day’.
The first time anyone at Burnside had seen a smile on Katherina’s face was when she felt the comforting, warm hands of the little kids.
The love and affection shown by the kindy kids towards the clients, made many reminiscent of raising their own children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary was reminded of her great-grandchildren, who are half Mauritian and half Maltese.
Many of the kindy kids were extremely excited to visit Arcare Burnside for the day. One child even started showing off his ‘awesome’ moves to the clients, exclaiming “Watch! I can do 5 whole push-ups, because I’m a superhero!”
After the visit many of the clients remarked how they felt a great sense of joy and purpose, as they felt their involvement enabled them to share their stories, love and knowledge with a younger generation.
