We custom build all our new residences with an experienced and comprehensive building team that specialises in residential aged care construction. By integrating this team with our operational team, a cohesive approach to the future development of our residences ensures significant control is exercised over the design, construction cost, timing, and quality of the finished product.
This means that we build our residences to a consistently high standard and the building resources are directed to maximising the comfort and benefits for our residents. We have employed a full time Refurbishment Manager who is progressively updating our older residences to our required standard to meet future care and lifestyle needs.
In 2013 the group’s architect undertook an extensive review of the design and construction of all Arcare’s existing residences.
The purpose of the review was to identify areas of existing building design that could be improved to give greater amenity for our residents, greater operational efficiencies to allow our staff to perform at their optimum and to improve our environmental footprint in an endeavour to reduce operational costs.
This project took 12 months and involved redesigning every aspect of the built form. As a result, Arcare now has a comprehensive “Master Brief” which controls every aspect of new building design and ensures consistent quality outcomes for each new residence.
Every new residence follows the Master Brief to ensure enhanced resident amenity by way of giving all residents greater access to beautifully landscaped courtyards and/or balconies with views.
We conduct post-occupancy evaluations of our new residences, and our building team ensures that any maintenance issues arising from this are addressed in an effective and timely manner in the initial 12 months post construction. This is complemented by our robust ongoing and preventative maintenance programs that are underpinned by our electronic Essential Safety Inspection System (ESIS). The ESIS program provides the following benefits:
Our Lounge rooms offer light filled spaces that feature comfortable seating. Some Lounge rooms have themes, ambient music, entertainment options or aquariums to enjoy.
Every residence has several dining rooms for residents to enjoy meals in. Our team will assist with care needs and provide catering as required.
Each residence has been equipped with a Salon amenity for residents to make use of. Local vendors provide in house services for beauty or barber needs.
Examples of services offered include but are not limited to manicure and pedicure, hair styling and cutting, make-up and massages.
