After many months of planning, building and installing, Arcare North Shore is happy to unveil the newest addition to the aged care residence.
The outdoor garden in the Saunders community has had a major uplift with a new musical Sensory Garden!
The Sensory Garden is full of plants and musical instruments, creating melodic tunes for everyone to hear throughout the residence.
Working with an artist specialising in French furniture, the lifestyle team at Arcare North Shore came up with idea of a sensory area filled with music and art.
The giant interactive pieces are the perfect fit for the area as they offer a sensory experience through touch, sight and hearing.
And this has been a real hit with our clients who are visually-impaired and our clients with dementia.
This was also a proud moment for the artist named Remi, who spent many hours crafting the individual pieces for the clients at our North Shore aged care.
You can be sure to see many clients using this area to its fullest potential!
Everyone has worked very hard to make this come together for the clients.
And this has been a huge project for all of us here at Arcare North Shore, but we are glad to see it come to fruition.
We hope to share this endeavour with families, friends and members of the local community as we are the first aged care residence in Townsville to have a Sensory Garden and a Zen Garden.
This is an exciting journey for us all as we strive to implement a complete sensory experience for our Sensitive Care community!
