As part of National Volunteer week, Arcare Peregian Springs joined in to celebrate 30 years of volunteering in Australia.
We put on a special luncheon for our volunteers, with most of them volunteering at Arcare for over 5 years.
We have a total of 29 volunteers and we feel very fortunate to have them as part of our team.
They help out at a range of activities with the clients, for example they meet up with them one-on-one, they help with the knitting group, do crosswords, bring them to concerts, go shopping, do art, join in sing-a-longs while playing the piano and so much more.
Through their time at Arcare, they have created many wonderful friendships and they also give the clients a sense of continuity, fulfilment, respect, enjoyment, socialisation and belonging in the residence.
The clients simply love our volunteers like dear friends.
All the volunteers have become friends with team members and with each other.
Our volunteers stated that they get as much out of volunteering as they give.
We are blessed to have so many wonderful volunteers here and we want to sincerely thank them from the bottom of our hearts!
