Arcare Aged Care Community Stories – April 13 to April 19
April 14 – Arcare Glenhaven – Hallway Exercises
This week at Arcare Glenhaven, the clients have been trying something new. Jeanette from Lifestyle has been running hallway exercise classes. The clients have been learning new exercises to do while holding on to the rails.
These new hallway exercises also make it easy to keep social distancing among the clients. There have been many laughs throughout the class as the clients are learning new and innovative ways to stay fit, flexible and healthy.
April 14 – Arcare Glenhaven – Mobile Library
Clients have been keeping occupied this week by reading at Arcare Glenhaven. Jeanette from Lifestyle went around to the clients in their suites with the library trolley.
The clients are finding that they have a lot more time up their sleeves, so what better way to kill time than by reading a good book.
Paul looks forward to the library trolley visits as he enjoys being able to read the blurbs on the back of the books and deciding which ones he feels will be a good read.
Throughout the week, he often takes his book down to the cafe or to the courtyard to read in the sun with a cup of coffee.
April 15 – Arcare Glenhaven – Wacky Wednesday Country & Western
This week’s Wacky Wednesday at Arcare Glenhaven was a Country & Western theme. There were many cowboys and cowgirls walking through the corridors today and the clients loved to see the team members out of uniform and dressed in something fun and colourful.
Client Mark also had great fun dressing up as a cowboy. Team members also had fun comparing each other’s outfits and taking photos while pretending to be cowboys and girls.
April 17 – Arcare Oatlands – Ten Pin Bowling
During the long Easter weekend at Arcare Oatlands, clients gathered together for a game of Ten Pin Bowling.
Making the most of the beautiful sunny weather, we decided to hold the activity in our courtyard.
Many clients participated in some friendly competition and they had a lot of fun.
There were claps and cheers for one another when clients scored strikes and spares!
Our Ten Pin Bowling activity was a wonderful way for the clients to stay active and make friends while having lots of fun!
We’re all looking forward to win at the next bowling activity!
