Arcare Oatlands chef Vikash recently held a very special Christmas in July lunch function for the Oatlands community.
Residents found a spot in the sun of the Scott Courtyard; listening to Christmas tunes while deciding between red and white wine.
Sticking to holiday traditions, Vik carved and served the Christmas ham at the table for the residents.
The Arcare team, dressed in purple tinsel, worked together in plating and presenting the lunch to the residents; complimenting the ham with mustard, turkey, roasted vegetables and a delicious baked potato slice.
And of course, a Christmas lunch wouldn’t be complete without plum pudding and ice-cream!
‘Lunch was absolutely lovely,’ said Elaine.
‘It’s so nice to bring everyone together, and on such a lovely day!’ said Harry.
‘I try to put on functions when I can and bring everyone together, including the staff,’ said Vik, ‘It looked like they all loved it!’
The festive buzz at Arcare Oatlands on the day definitely made it feel like Christmas.
Everyone greatly appreciated the work Vik put into holding such a special lunch.
Actions such as these truly signifies the sense of community and family shared within Arcare facilities.
