Frontline Arcare team members are the backbone of our community, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to hear about their work ethic, hobbies, and motivations. Today we sit down with Arcare Springwood’s Client Services Manager, Jenni Kettle. She shares what she loves about working in Aged Care and Arcare specifically, including her favourite stories of working at the residence and with the team.
How long have you been working at Arcare?
A year & a half
What do you enjoy about your role?
Having the opportunity to help families in need of Aged Care placement & utilising our services.
How does this company differ from others you’ve worked for?
The culture is different, the vibe is different.
What do you love about Arcare and working in Aged Care?
What I love about working here is seeing my residents’ smiling faces and to have them drop by my office to have a chat.
What are your favourite stories of working at your residence / with your team / with a client?
As a Client Service Manager, we are the first in line to hear our clients & family’s stories as they search for the best Aged Care. The stories I love the most are the stories of my prospective residents’ lives, what they used to do, where they worked, how they raised their children, how long they’ve been married, where they used to live and most of all, I love listening to their wisdom. There is so much to learn from our elders, and I could sit all day listening to their stories.
What tips or advice would you give to someone looking to work in Aged Care?
Whatever role you want to take on in Aged Care, do it well, do it with a smile and do it from the heart.
What are your hobbies? What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I don’t have a hobby as such, but I do love my family time especially when all my 3 adult ‘kids’ come home, and we go camping together…happy times…happy days!
What is your special talent that you enjoy doing outside of work? How did you learn this talent?
Cooking, I guess that’s a talent. I love cooking, I love trying out new recipes and recreating it to my own version.
Can you share one fun fact about yourself? It could be an interesting experience that you had, a quirky talent or your favourite recipe.
