October is the national Breast Cancer Awareness Month which educates women on breast cancer and the impact the disease has in the community.
The Keysborough Community contributed to the month by hosting their own Pink Ribbon Day afternoon tea.
The event raised funds for the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre which does amazing work and has treated some people in the Keysborough Community.
Everyone donned pink for the occasion and many donated to the cause.
Breast cancer remains the most common cancer among Australian women but the good news is that survival rates continue to improve with 89 out of every 100 women who are diagnosed now surviving five or more years beyond diagnosis.
Congratulations to June for taking out the lucky first prize.
