May 11 – Arcare Parkwood – Pampering session for Mother’s Day
For Mother’s Day at Arcare Parkwood, Lifestyle Coordinator Tadeja organised a pampering session and a dessert table as a surprise for the clients.
And while the ladies were enjoying their manicure and pedicure, they sipped on their favourite bubblies.
May 11 – Arcare Eight Mile Plains – Photoshoot at the residence
Clients at Arcare Eight Mile Plains celebrated Mother’s Day with a handmade photo frame and an impromptu photo session around the residence.
During one of their craft sessions, the clients had made a beautiful frame full of pink and white flowers and hearts.
And on Friday, as the frame was taken around to the different ladies, they all had a big smile on their face as they happily posed for a photo.
May 12 – Arcare Pimpama – Indian Night
Clients recently enjoyed an Indian Night celebration in the Laurel community of Arcare Pimpama.
There was a traditional performance by Pimpama’s very own team members who had also dressed up in their cultural clothing for Indian Night
Together with team members, clients worked up an appetite by singing and dancing at the celebration.
May 12 – Arcare Pimpama – Mother’s Day morning tea
Lifestyle Coordinator Amanda at Arcare Pimpama organised a morning tea for the different communities during Mother’s Day.
At the morning tea, they enjoyed cupcakes prepared by the kitchen team, along with their favourite cups of tea.
The clients also wanted to do something special for one another, so they decided to make colourful paper flowers for all the ladies at the residence.
May 12 – Arcare Taigum – BBQ for team members
The Lifestyle team at Arcare Taigum set about cooking a BBQ for their fellow team members to celebrate International Nurses Day.
The kitchen team was busy organising the food and the drinks while Lifestyle was in charge of cooking up a storm at the BBQ.
‘Thank you for organising this! We have a great team at Taigum and we feel really appreciated!’ a team member commented.
May 13 – Arcare North Shore – Virtual concert by St Anthony’s Catholic College
Clients of Arcare North Shore were treated to a musical afternoon, thanks to the lovely talent of students from St Anthony’s Catholic College.
The students have been practicing for a live concert performance at the residence however due to the precautionary lockdown, the school decided to go ahead with a virtual version of their performance.
Featuring music from the violin, cello, piano and even a singing duo, the melodic tunes of St Anthony’s Catholic College echoed down the hallways.
‘Oh, that was amazing!’ Joyce Bioletti said.
Many could not stop talking about it and the children were very happy to share their musical talents with us. And we look forward to hearing their classical concert in-person!
May 14 – Arcare Parkinson – Wearing our favourite football jerseys
Clients and team members at Arcare Parkinson put on their footy jerseys to show their support for their favourite teams. This was part of the residence’s weekly dress-up theme.
May 15 – Arcare Caboolture – Making pom poms
The Arcare Caboolture community is happy to welcome back volunteer Sandra, who taught us how to make pom poms and turn them into little animals.
Client Marjorie made a little chicken while Anne made a little pig.
The clients were all very proud of their handcrafted animals and they had a great time catching with Sandra.
