Tinsel, baubles, glitter and gifts – Arcare North Lakes’ Christmas Fair was a big hit!
Organised by client services manager Karin, the Christmas Fair was a huge success with many visitors, family and friends attending.
As Christmas music played through the residence, people sauntered through the foyer and private dining room, enjoying the Christmas Fair atmosphere.
As you walk around the residence during the month of December, you can’t help but notice the colorful and festive decorations.
For example, the big silver-themed Christmas tree in the foyer, white rainbow tinsel at reception and the well-decorated communications hubs and suite doors.
Donned in Christmas shirts, earrings and accessories, clients and team members at Arcare North Lakes were ready for a big day ahead.
At the fair, there were handmade crochet items and handmade earrings created by some of the clients, with client Dorothy’s handmade unicorn gone in just a few minutes!
Alongside the handmade stalls, there was also a variety of gift and craft stalls from the local community.
The stalls ranged from handmade rocky road and brownies, Christmas decorations, stockings, pillows, fragrance diffusers, jewellery to lotions and so much more!
Visitors were spoiled for choice as they went from stall to stall, getting their hands on the local handcrafted goods.
There’s just something about Christmas that gets everyone in the mood of shopping!
The lifestyle team and the personal support workers made sure the Arcare North Lakes’ clients joined in the fair’s festivities and did some gift shopping of their own.
Client Betty could not help herself as she bought handkerchiefs for her son-in-law and a koala serving tray.
While client Helen celebrated Christmas early by going on a shopping spree and picking up a number of bags.
Café attendants Penny and Hope were also on their feet serving an endless flow of chilled drinks and yummy nibbles.
And with the help of volunteer Fay, the lucky draw was a huge success with over 150 tickets sold.
Arcare North Lakes’ Christmas Fair was a wonderful event that brought the local community together while showcasing the talents of local artisans and businesses.
The clients also enjoyed the Christmas atmosphere and they are looking forward to more Christmas celebrations!
