Gill has been a volunteer at Arcare Parkinson for over a year and she has become a valuable part of our Arcare family.
Gill visits twice a week, helping with outings, special events, and doing one to one chats with our residents.
The residents speak highly of Gill and look forward to her visits.
Maureen said, “My family are away at the moment and Gill pops in for a chat to keep me company. We have lots in common.”
Dawn said, “Gill came on the shopping trip with me last month. We talked and talked. Gill had the time to look at clothes and help me choose some lovely outfits.”
Gill has developed a lovely friendship with resident Dot and they regularly have a cuppa together at the café.
Dot said, “Gill is a lovely lady and I enjoy our weekly chats over a cuppa at the café.”
Gill also looks forward to her weekly visits.
“I get so much enjoyment sharing my stories and showing pictures of my grandchildren. The residents now ask me about my trips away and how my grandchildren are going,” Gill said.
“Volunteering is so rewarding and I would encourage anyone who has some spare time to come and apply at Arcare Parkinson as a volunteer.”
