Plenty of green fingers at Arcare Parkwood’s Gardening Club

Armed with shovels and trowels, clients with green fingers at Arcare Parkwood have been tending to their garden in the residence courtyard.

So far, they have planted strawberries, tomatoes, flowers, beetroot, zucchini and all types of herbs and spices!

It seems like they have enough variety to start their own restaurant, only serving up the freshest ingredients!

After months of cold winter weather, having the opportunity to feel the earth on their hands and to be out in the sun means a lot to them.

And with that many plants and produce in their raised garden beds, the clients have been enthusiastic about being responsible for watering and weeding.

As the plants began to blossom and produce fruit, the clients in the Parkwood community were also eager to taste the fruits of their harvest.

‘When can we eat them?’ many of them were heard saying.

Now it is up to them to keep their garden growing and their green fingers dirty as Spring brings about more opportunities to grow different plants.
