Clients Ralph and Doreen have been inseparable since the day Ralph set eyes on Doreen at the tender age of 16.
Their first meeting was at a dance but their first date was at the pictures where they sat in the back row.
Ralph and Doreen married on the 25th March, 1950 at 3pm at the Anglican Church St Johns at Kelvin Grove.
Their love shines through with the simplest of gestures, like holding hands or sharing memories with a smile.
They have two daughters, Linda and Jan, four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Ralph and Doreen both agree they have great family support.
These days, the couple face the beginning of Dementia and they feel right at home at Arcare Peregian Springs.
With assistance, they are able to enjoy life together with both still enjoying the simple things in life.
They participate in most activities together, for example Ralph and Doreen enjoy going on outings but because of Doreen’s health needs, they require assistance.
But this does not stop the couple from enjoying life to the fullest, with a sense of continuity, meaning, lots of enjoyment and fulfilment.
Ralph and Doreen both love Arcare Peregian Springs and have made many friendships with team members, volunteers, entertainers and fellow clients.
