Spring is a time where we can embrace the outdoors.
Luckily, the Arcare Sanctuary Manors residence is filled with many delightfully calming outdoor areas where our clients can enjoy nature.
Last Friday, two of our volunteers, Lynne and Kathy gathered up a few clients and accompanied them to our outdoor art class for some painting and morning tea.
In the company of others and with a paint brush in hand, many giggled as they painted their own version of Halloween.
We will be celebrating Halloween in our main lounge with team members, clients and some much-loved children will be visiting from a local childcare, on Thursday 31st October.
As we painted our Halloween portraits which will be shown to these youngsters, it became obvious that the joy of painting is in the association of being with others and having a good chat about life.
We also welcomed a new client and her daughter to our little gathering and instantly became friends.
One of the many enjoyable parts of volunteering is seeing new clients settle in, make friends, enjoy all our activities and smile at their decision to be part of Arcare Sanctuary Manors.
This Art Class organised by Lynne and the Lifestyle team here at Arcare Sanctuary Manors is held monthly and clients really enjoy this creative opportunity.
They also love taking this time to chat about life and enjoy a morning tea served by the friendly team members.
