Some say that a picture tells a thousand words. Here at Arcare Springwood, we believe that is true. One of our clients Dawn, is an amazing artist!
Dawn started her love of art at school and her teachers noticed that she was quite good at it. However, when she got married, she went into workforce and never really revisited her passion for art.
One day, while walking along Broadbeach, Dawn met a lady who invited her to some painting lessons, and thus began her hobby of oil painting.
Just as it was before, Dawn started painting again and her love for it was reignited!
Currently, Dawn has painted over 80 paintings. Some of Dawn’s paintings would take her from 5 months to 2 years to complete.
Dawn’s painting subjects come mostly from images and portraits of other people. She does not paint sceneries as her interest is in painting female subjects.
Dawn may have started her painting lessons about 8 years ago but she is very shy and humble among her works. To be honest, everyone who has seen them thinks they are brilliant!
For about six months, Dawn was unable to paint due to her health, but now that she is feeling better, she is excited to get back into it again.
Recently, Rebecca the lifestyle coordinator organised to have an art book from the local Logan City Council Library borrowed for Dawn and she is also arranging a very special trip to the Logan Art Gallery in September for Dawn to enjoy and gain some inspiration.
Some of Dawn’s amazing works include a portrait of people dancing in Brisbane’s famous Cloudland and a portrait of her daughter.
