Queenslanders are lucky to have such beautiful weather almost all year round – the perfect conditions to spend time outdoors in.
Recently, a group from Arcare Taigum took advantage of the glorious weather and decided to have morning tea in the courtyard.
Soaking up the sun’s rays, clients chatted about everything from the weather, the upcoming bus trip, gardening and the plants in the courtyard.
Coincidentally, it was Lesley’s birthday so the group sang an alfresco happy birthday to her.
On the day of the state funeral for former politician Lady Flo Bjelke-Peterson, the Taigum Community decided to honour her by making her famous pumpkin scone recipe.
In the retro kitchen, Lifestyle Coordinator Cathy was instructed by the ladies on which ingredients to put in to the mixture.
There was particularly a lot of discussion surrounding the amount of sugar to include.
While making the scones, the ladies discussed the importance of Lady Flo as a role model for females.
The scones were sent to the kitchen for baking, and, upon return, were cut and buttered.
Rita spoke for everyone when she said, ‘They are the best scones. I wouldn’t change a thing.’
