Amongst the Irish culture

Arcare North Lakes had a blast getting amongst the Irish culture, celebrating St Patrick’s Day from morning till evening.

The morning of St Patrick’s Day had the Arcare team and volunteers dressing the theatre with green and Irish themed decorations.

Many of the clients arrived to the celebrations early to see what the team had put together.

In the lead up to their special pre-dinner drinks, everyone had fun with Irish props and costumes.

Clients dressed up for photos and had a great laugh, getting into the Irish spirit.

‘I’ve seen a double rainbow, I wonder if there is a pot of gold under both!’ said one of the clients.

For some with Irish ancestors, it was a time to remember their heritage.

For many others, it was a time to embrace another culture and celebrate multiculturalism.

Clients put through a special request for Irish beer.

It wouldn’t be St Patrick’s Day without a beer or two!

Everyone had the opportunity to taste test different Irish beers during their pre-drinks.

‘It was a great experience to try beer from another country,’ said one client.

The celebrations had everyone in the party spirit, enjoying a drink with good company.

Many learnt about the Irish culture from others at the gathering.

‘I’m looking over for a four-leaf clover’ said a client.
