Arcare North Shore’s ‘cakeful’ 2nd birthday celebration

Clients from Arcare North Shore were up bright and early to get prepared for a very special day – our second birthday!

Two years ago today, we opened our doors to North Queensland as the first Arcare to be built in the tropics.

To celebrate our day, we are holding a special Purple Tie party. We encouraged the ladies and gents alike to scan their wardrobes to find their special purple outfit for the day.

Our magnificent cake was made by Maria, our talented Belgium chocolate cake designer here in Townsville who went all out to design this masterpiece for our guests.

We celebrated our milestone listening and dancing to Rockin’ Ray who sang our birthday songs right up until lunch time.

The cutting of the cake brought two special guests to North Shore. Townsville Mayor Jenny Hill and Deputy Mayor Cr Les Walker helped James our Residence Manager to cut the cake and everyone graciously posed for a photo.

There were smiles all around as we handed out pink champagne and pink lemonade and served birthday cake to all.

The birthday celebration was also shared with one of our clients, Olive Bell.  It was Olive’s 80th birthday so her family shared the celebration with us and we are so glad they did as we all had such a wonderful time.

It was wonderful to see a mix of young and older people who were able to come together and have a great time. This shows that there is no age limit to having a great party!

We felt really appreciated with the efforts that everyone went to for our party and having the mayors there really demonstrated our strong bond with the community.

Our manager James and Theresa our chef had another surprise for our lifestyle manager Tracey, who shared a birthday in the same week as Arcare as they presented her with a beautiful white chocolate cake.
